Take part in the new The Road to Hope 5k walk and 10k run, and help raise funds for children with special needs who are recovering and progressing via The Family Hope Center Programme: an often life-changing neuro-rehabilitation programme for children with special needs.
The fun, and family-friendly Road to Hope event takes place along the stunning north Wales coast; and you can choose from the following events:
As a participant in the Road to Hope, you have an opportunity to change the lives of many children in the UK, who are facing challenges as diverse as blindness, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, deafness, dyslexia, ADD, autism, immobility, and more.
The Family Hope Center Programme empowers parents to give their children with special needs a tailored neuro-rehabilitation programme. This programme is designed to aid neurological functioning, - enabling many children to reach their true potential: often making achievements beyond their parents’ wildest dreams. For many children on the programme (and their families) this has truly life-changing and positive consequences.
This special programme is not currently available on the NHS. Families with children with special needs often have a challenging enough life, and therefore often lack the time, energy and resources to do fundraising on top of everything else they do for their child. Xtra Mile Events want the Road to Hope to help unburden these families of some of these challenges, so that they can then access the Family Hope Center programme and use their energies to help their children to be the best they can be.
Your participation in the Road to Hope and raising of funds, will therefore help this aim to become a reality.
The funds raised via your sponsorship will help families here in the UK, who are implementing or wishing to join the Family Hope Center Programme. You do not have to raise a minimum amount - any amount you raise will be much appreciated by families on this special programme. All donations made via the Tree of Hope will be allocated to a generic fundraising pot which will be shared with those families who have raised money, via their contributions being matched where possible. Who are the Family Hope Center
Recent research has shown that over 80% of parents with a child diagnosed as Special Needs receive conflicting advice from medical professionals, who often give the children labels and advice on how to cope with a set of symptoms. Whether it's autism, epilepsy, ADD, blindness, cerebral palsy, dyslexia, or Down's syndrome, a label might be a starting point for understanding a child's issue, but it fails to diagnose the true source of dysfunction.
